In this blog I’m going to be sharing 5 tips for social media and how you can grow your following.
Consistency with posting content is key. I would recommend posting at least 4 times a week, if not more. I set myself a challenge to post every single day to see if it was possible and it certainly was! I find when the more i post, the more chance i get with people enquiring about branding for their business because they're consistently being reminded of what i can offer their business with me posting every single day. It also means that your followers will start to recognise when and what time you normally post so they will subconsciously be aware to look out for your post every single day. Do not overthink your posts because this will just hold you back. Just go for it! Try and schedule your posts to make it easier for yourself, theres lots or platforms you can do this on: Preview, Hootsuite, Planoly etc.
2. Show your personality
If you aren't showing the person behind the brand it's going to be really hard for you to gain followers. People buy into a lifestyle and love to get know the person behind the brand. Show up on your socials every single day, post on your stories, show behind the scenes, show things you're working on - trust me people are nosey and love seeing things like this. You have to be genuine and yourself because you can't keep up something 'fake' forever.
3. Providing value for free
Put out advice, tips and other things for free for your followers because this will make them stick around. You need to give them a reason to follow you and what better way than giving advice and tips out for free.
4.Build a community
Your followers are essentially your 'community' so you need to be leaving engaging and meaningful interactions with them. So this can be if they comment on your posts you need to reply and not ignore them. Give an in depth reply and not just a two word answers. If you get messages from others make sure you're replying and not ignoring them too. Try and make friends with people in your community because it's 'community over competition' and it's so lovely getting support from others similar to you.
5. Be Patient
Progress does not happen overnight so if you don't see growth within the first few months, do not give up. It can be a slow process but if you're ready to be in it for the long run then you will see progression.
I hope these tips were helpful and you can start using them within your business!
